walnuts! the healthy stress/cholesterol busting snack

No, I’m not on an adorable fuzzy woodland creature kick.  The squirrel (whom I don’t find to be adorable …I think squirrels are shifty little bastards …bunnies ARE adorable, they’re just mean) is to represent this story.  There is a snack out there that will help relieve stress…Walnuts!

These very healthy nuts are full of compounds that help zap stress and calm you down.  According to a study from Penn State, walnuts are a stress buster. Healthy adults with high cholesterol were put on a 6 week walnut diet. These adults successfully lowered their blood pressure.  A 1 ounce serving of walnuts, about 14 shelled nuts, which is under 200 calories, is the way to help get rid of stress.

Good to know!  Walnuts, almonds and peanuts are the only ones I like, so that works out quite nicely.
