first look at gwyneth paltrow on ‘glee’

Friday, November 5th, 2010

These pictures are from a mash-up number of “Umberlla/Singing In The Rain” that Will Schuester will be performing with Gwenyth‘s character in an upcoming episode of her short story arc on Glee.  Looks great and I’m sure it’ll sound great too.  I hate admitting nice things about that snoot of a woman (yes, I said “snoot”) but she can sing.

bristol palin says “tee hee, oopsie, I forgot to vote, my bad!” (or something like that) and meghan mccain thinks she’s an idiot (or something like that)

Bristol Palin didn’t vote in Tuesday’s midterm elections, and Meghan McCain is not happy with her about it.

Here’s what Bristol said about it on Inside Edition:

“I did not send in my absentee ballot in Alaska. I’m going to be in trouble. Sorry, Mom!”

Here’s what Meghan McCain said about it on The Tonight Show:

“I think a lot of women worked really hard to give us the right to vote, and I think anyone who doesn’t vote is just ridiculous.”

More from McCain:

“I guess it’s only important for Bristol Palin to vote for Dancing with the Stars.”

HA!  Good one (and pathetically true).  Nope, I’m still not loving Meghan’s dad and I probably am not in agreement with a lot of things she thinks, but, I am warming up to her with some of her outspoken points.  Meghan at least shows evidence of using her brain and is trying to use her given platform for things she believes in, can’t fault her there.

And hey Bristol, I’m pretty sure you were “in trouble” back when you got knocked up in high school by that moron who posed for Playgirl when milking his moment in the spotlight …not voting is stupid, but no …certainly not the stupidest thing you ever did.  Besides, the world is probably better off with you sitting elections out anyway.  Very few things in this world scare and appall me like Sarah Palin …but let’s just say Bristol …is definitely her spawn.

conan o’brien: “I won’t be denied my Masturbating Bear!”

Friday, November 5th, 2010

If Conan O’Brien wants his Masturbating Bear on his show, he’s not going to allow NBC to stop him!  Conan’s new show premieres on TBS on Nov 8th and he’s not going to let a potential intellectual property rights lawsuit stop him from going all out!

Here’s what Conan had to say about the subject:

“If there’s something we did for a long time that we’ve established as ours, we’ll figure out a way to do it. I won’t be denied my Masturbating Bear!”

More from Conan over a potential bear-related lawsuit:

“What I really wanna do, is be sued over the bear and then appear in court with the Masturbating Bear. ‘Your Honor, this bear can’t help himself!’ “

I couldn’t be happier or more excited to hear about Conan’s approach to his new show!  I’m thinking his no-fear attitude will translate to a fantastic series premiere …and series in general thereafter.

I’d say the rally to restore sanity was a success…

Friday, November 5th, 2010

Jon Stewart‘s Rally to Restore Sanity and Stephen Colbert‘s March to Keep Fear Alive drew almost 250,000 people to the National Mall in Washington D.C. last Saturday.

Appearing live on Comedy Central and on satellite broadcasts in 20 different cities, such as in Los Angeles, Chicago, Austin, and Boise, the three hour rally mostly consisted of satire and comedy with humorous sketches and surprise musical guests such as Kid Rock, Ozzy Osbourne, The Roots, Sheryl Crow, Tony Bennett, and Yusuf Islan *the former Cat Stevens.

However, it took a serious turn in the end when Stewart made a speech saying these are “hard times, not end times.”

He added:

“This was not a rally to ridicule people of faith or people of activism, or look down our noses at the heartland or passionate argument, or to suggest that times are not difficult and we have nothing to fear. They are and we do.

The image of Americans that is reflected back to us by our political and media process is false. [Americans hear] how fragile our country is, on the brink of catastrophe, torn by polarizing hate, and how it’s a shame that we can’t work together to get things done. The truth is, we do. We work together to get things done every damn day. The only place we don’t is here or on cable TV.”

Wish I was there for it, sounds like my kind of politics…

betty white is okay with gay marriage

Wednesday, November 3rd, 2010

Betty White recently sat down with Parade Magazine to talk about her life, her love of animals and her adoring fans.  The Golden Girl is aware of her intense gay following and expressed her desire to see gay couples have the right to get married.  She explained:

“I don’t care who anybody sleeps with. If a couple has been together all that time—and there are gay relationships that are more solid than some heterosexual ones—I think it’s fine if they want to get married. I don’t know how people can get so anti-something. Mind your own business, take care of your affairs, and don’t worry about other people so much.”

Simply put and completely right on.  She’s Betty White people.  You would all do well to listen to what she has to say!
