“family guy” clever as always

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

Family Guy has created an amusing campaign for their Emmy mailer this year.

Peter Griffin takes the cover emulating the Oscar-nominated flick, Precious. The tagline reads, “Vote for us or you’re racist.”

Other tag lines included in the packet:

“Family Guy – written by 8 WASPS, 6 Jews, 2 Asian and 1 Gay.

We peaked 3 years ago, so by your logic we should get an Emmy now

You have to vote for us — we did a holocaust episode

Family Guy with Tina Fey… Not really, we just want an Emmy”

Ha! Wait.  How have they NOT been showered in Emmys yet?! SOMEONE FIX THIS!  At least give them a cookie for the clever marketing campaign!

alice does good…real good

As of tomorrow, Tim Burton’s 3D, Disney-collaborated flick , Alice in Wonderland, will become the sixth movie to make $1 billion in worldwide box-office sales.  Though the movie is set to come out on DVD next week, Alice is still being show in the theaters across the world, racking in more than $667 million internationally.

Wow.  I didn’t really see that happening!  I mean, I knew it was doing well …but I guess I’m a little surprised.  Based off of word of mouth opinions not being favorable in general …I suppose it surprises me it did THAT well!  Then again, the Transformers movies suck and “do well”  …so that just goes to show how it’s a rather subjective issue.  It’s quite an impressive fete, congrats.

Also, this will be the second billion dollar flick for both Disney and Johnny Depp, with Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest having made $1.07 billion at its launch.

jennifer lopez and skeletor…I mean…marc anthony renew their vows…again

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

It’s just what famous folks do to validate their relationships and attempt to make themselves relevant again to the rest of us!  Jennifer Lopez and Skeletor Marc Anthony will be celebrating their sixth wedding anniversary by renewing their vows in a big ceremony on June 5 at their Hidden Hills, California estate.

The two of them married in 2004 and renewed their vows once again in 2008.  Yeah.

6 years IS a long time …especially for a woman who has been through her share of marriages/engagements only to end up with a guy who left his other wife (and kid) for her …good ones guys, thanks for reminding us you’re still around …now go away.

Lady Glee Ga

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

If there was EVER an episode of Glee not to be missed.  It’d be tonight’s episode.  The theme is “theatricality” but really it’s an homage to GaGa.  The cast has even been outfitted by Haus of GaGa.  I’ve seen the costumes, beautiful replicas.  I’ve heard some of the music (Glee good, but I’m always going to be partial to the original).  It’s going to be a really good time.  I cannot wait.   No seriously, can’t wait.  It’s gonna be so goooood! (I proceed to squeal like a teenager).
