After seeing major success over the Christmas holiday, Sherlock Holmes 2 is already in the works. Well duh!
With Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law signed on to reprise their roles, Guy Ritchie is looking to bring on Brad Pitt for the role of Professor Moriarty. I can see that!
According to a source:
“The director, Guy Ritchie, loves Brad. He has worked with him before and thinks he is one of the most underrated actors working today. Guy knows that everyone thinks of as a Pitt as a pretty boy and can’t wait to turn him into the world’s greatest super-villain. It will definitely make the sequel a must-see.”
But will he commit?

Michael Jackson‘s 1983 music video for Thriller has been officially inducted for preservation in the 2009 National Film Registry of the Library of Congress. It’s the first music video in history to be bestowed the honor!
Coordinator Steve Leggett explains the National Film Preservation Board’s choice:
“Because of the way the recording industry is evolving and changing, we thought it would be good to go back to the development of an earlier seismic shift, which was the development of the music video.”
That’s a great honor and a respectful legacy for the late King of Pop’s contributions in his field.
The Muppet Movie was also chosen for induction this year alongside Once Upon a Time in the West with a young Clint Eastwood and Jezebel starring Bette Davis.

If you were for some reason looking forward to Warner Brother’s ThunderCats …well, don’t get too excited. Sources over at WB have revealed the film, based on the 1980s animated TV series, has been scrapped! That surprises me given the sure-fire popularity in reviving hipster nostalgia. I’m going to spend as much time mourning it as I did looking forward to it. Okay, I’m done.
Oh well, one crappy adaptation down, so many more to go…

The top flick illegally downloaded off of the Internet this year was Star Trek.
But of course! Geeks know their way around the Internet…
The flicks that trailed behind Captain Kirk and his merry crew were Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen, The Hangover, Twilight, Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
